They used to be cheap, still cheaper than a AR. If you want less recoil buy a AK74, but the AK47 is a great all around battle carbine. I use mine in 3-gun matches and I'm never out gunned. |
| Pros: |
Good shooter. I can keep a milk jug bouncing until the magazine is empty. |
| Cons: |
Trigger slap sucks. Buy a new trigger group for your AK. |

Soft points or FMJ would be better for hunting. the 155 grn.hollow point ruined lots of meat and destroyed the hide. The biggest downside is the accuracy sucks and the bullets travel very very slowly. At 50 yards, if the deer hear the shot, they have time to step aside before the bullet reaches them, but if it hits them, they won't go very far. It can easily be disassembled for cleaning, transport, or augmentation, Comes with a side-mount for scope already on it. Only downside to that is the scope costs almost as much as the gun. But hey, it's got nightvision! I took the bulky awkward looking stock (as seen in picture) off of mine and put a traditional stock on with pistol grip... came with all. Over-all, it's a good gun and very fun to shoot. |
| Pros: |
Durable, reliable, easy to use, disassemble or modify, came with extra stock and pistol grip for easier handling, and a durable nylon sling and a small cleaning kit |
| Cons: |
Inaccurate at long ranges, bullets travel much too slow for anything other than target practice but all that may be fixed by experimenting with other brands and types of ammo. The sling is too much trouble to take off once you finally get it attached. Over-priced where I purchased it. Over-heats quickly... would not be good as a full-auto weapon. Some sort of malfunction in the cocking mechanism. Will hold open if gun is held upright, but if gun is jarred it slams shut... not a real problem though |

A very awsome gun for the price. I have yet to experience trigger slap even though I hear it's a common problem. Defenitly the most reliable gun I own. If something bad is going down it's going to be the first gun in my arsenal I reach for. |
| Pros: |
Cheap ammo, no chance in hell of a misfire or jam when you need it to perform, easy to clean, and more accurate than one would expect. |
| Cons: |
Hard to get used to at first, took a couple hundered rounds to break it in as I think mine had a slight discontinuity in the barrel (one round in every 3 would be off target to the right) but now every round hits where i'm aiming. The stock is too short for most people to pick it up right away and shoot. |

This is my 1st ak cuz im only 18 but I do love it. I had to get an assualt type gun that was in my $ range and the WASR 10 is a reliable and sturdy gun. Hasnt jammed for me yet, and made my 1st experience shooting an ak pretty damn fun and one to remember. Despite the rough quality compared to other AK's out there, its shoots perfectly and i wouldnt even had gotten myself one if it hadnt been so $ cheap. A good gun |
| Pros: |
robust, reliable, low price and a blast to shoot |

That romanian piecer sucked big donkey balls. The only reason they are produced is because people can be suckered into thinking they have bought a really good ak when actually they have gotten a cheaply made peice of crap. Save your money and buy a better quality built ak. FOR SAKE!!! |
| Pros: |
I put 5000+ rounds through it and only jammed a couple of times. |
| Cons: |
Extremely cheap build. The receiver is too thin, the front sight and gas tube were canted, the mag well was loose, the finish was crap as was the furniture, it had a wicked trigger slap, it was inaccurate even for an ak, and did i mention the cant was freaking terrible? |

Will not be the last AK purchased. Cleaned off cosmo with mineral spirits followed by Hoppes and Rem oil in less than 40 minutes. Cleaned bolt w/o dissassembly of pins by bathing it in above, shaking out repeatedly, and finally Rem oil spray. Polished FCG wear surfaces in 20 min and ground off disconnector tab in 20 min. Added shepherd's hook replacement and Black Jack buffer (green. No trigger slap. Real soft on shoulder. Did not fire before cleaning, mods to FCG, and buffer install. 60 rounds fired with no problems. Inside still looks clean with slight soot on piston. alot of startup problems can be solved with all firearms by a thorough initial cleaning before breaking in. |
| Pros: |
Great for shotgun practice with no pain and low cost. Fun to shoot. Great sound. |
| Cons: |
Cosmoline should be cleaned out before any shooting. May want to clean and amber shellac stock. Rough FCG castings need polishing to smooth out pull and get a good 2 stage feel. Can't downrate to much - it's an AK not a $$$$custom rifle or shotgun. About on par quality wise w/Rem 870 express super magnum shotgun - and at about the same price (except for cheaper 7.62 ammo). |

I posted the last review and stated my WSAR-10 was new and post ban. By post ban I ment after the ban expired. If you think this needs to be added to clear up any doubts about the post ban statement please do so. I have seen other statements using post ban as during the ban so I wasn't sure if a correction was needed or not. Thanks, David. |

This is my first AK-47. I had an SKS and this gun is way more fun. I was frankly amazed at the accuracy with the open sites and short barrel. I like it. Atlantic Firearms was good to deal with also. |
| Pros: |
price is good, report is pleasant, wood quality is good, I have killed 2 pesky birds with 2 shots at 60 yards with the open sights. I like it. |
| Cons: |
wood finish was slim to none. It jammed and creased 3 rounds in the first 30 but hasn't missed since. |

Decen't weapon to build on. I replaced the cheap laminate furniture with a "Galil" type front grip, an after market folding stock, and added a decent side rail scope. Now it is totally bad ass! Mods to the weapon cost me about $200.00, but, what the Hell! |
| Pros: |
Decen't price, fun to shoot. |
| Cons: |
Mag well is a bit loose & mags tend to rattle a bit. Did not like the cheap laminate furniture, so I replaced all that. |

For the money, this is an excellent hi-cap AK clone. As accurate as a Soviet SKS.Not one hiccup yet in 500+ rounds. What else can I say, it's about as good as a mass produced Romanian AK clone can be! A fun toy. |

Accurate for an AK, dependable, rugged. |
