CUR 2
Bubba's Review:
5.45x39mm Stamped Receiver "Post Ban rifle". These are basically a high cap ROMAK 2 or MK II. Wood and finish of these rifles are said to be better than the MK II, barrel has AK-74 muzzle brake
Manufacturer Description:
It has a side rail optics mount and the 16" barrel is unthreaded. A muzzle nut is pressed on and tack welded. All Romanian rifles chambered for the 5.45x39mm cartridge are semi auto versions of the AK-74 except for one part. The front of the front sight is threaded on AK-74 rifles not the barrel like the AK-47 rifle. The muzzle brake is screwed onto the front sight. The Romanian 5.45x39mm rifles have a AKM front sight on them and not a AK-74 front sight.

Review:
Highly recommend this variant to the person who is a Romanian lover, and wants a variant that is subtly different, yet high quality craftmanship on these series rifles.
As stated above, the CUR and others above, were imported one year making them somewhat rare, and getting rarer by the day.
if you don't have one, and see one, you'll wish you had one, maybe 2.
Pros:
Qiality of fit anf finish. This rifle should NOT even be mentioned in the same sentence as the WASR series.
Very easy sighting in, digests all ammo.
Has unique, and rare upturned bolt handle for paratroop soldiers.
Cons:
The thumbhole stock that the Clinton administration made it wear is barely functional, I have large hands and I could not get a good trigger hand set up.
Easily swapped out for a standard stock
Item Description:

Ease of Use:
 Smooth, no ills at all
Quality:
 Right amongst the best
Size:

Weight:
 standard weight
Price:
used to be under $400, now think almost $600

Review:
I bought a used one (excellent condition) last week. It came without a muzzle brake. In general, the quality is ok -- the bore looks great and the carrier is well made as well, but the receiver is somewhat crude. Also, the blue coat of the gun cannot compare with Western made weapons. Shoot 120 rounds at 100 yards, the grouping is similar to my Bushmaster M4A3 carbine. However, the recoil and muzzle jumping was more noticable than M4, maybe due to missing of a muzzle brake. For unknown reason, I fall into love with this AK-74, much more than my love with M4, Mini-14, etc.

The gun came with 8 factory 30-round magazines, cleaning kit, a bunch of ammo loading clips, and a rifle bag. Totally paid $450 + $22.50 tax.
