VERY poor quality control. I have fired real AMD-65's in Iraq and have over 25 years experience with AK's of all types. The Horn "Custom" Rifles AMD-65 is a poorly made weapon. Follows is a list of the deficiencies:
The trunion rivets are poorly done-they look like a kid assembled them in his auto shop class.
After two hundred rounds the hammer pin popped out of the right receiver hole completely thus rendering the weapon inoperative-had to take it to my gunsmith to correct.
The magazine well was so tight I had to take a file and open it up so mags could remove and insert smoothly.
I don't care if Chris Horn stands behind his guns-this rifle should have NEVER left his shop like this. I frankly wouldn't trust him to fix these problems based on the quality control I have seen in this rifle. Which is why I took the rifle to a trusted smith'. I'm not buddies with Mr. Horn-I'm just a consumer. A consumer who shouldn't have to write a review like this or be sold a product like that.
